How often should I use Good Dirt Plant Food?
ANSWER: As often as you like!
It is true — you can apply our Plant Food each time you water your plants.
Why? Our products are not salt or petroleum based. Too much salt can cause plant drought stress or root burn.
Since we don’t base our products in salt or petroleum, you can feed your plants year round, as often as you like, and you will not have a build up of salts!
Pro Tip:
Feed your plants with our Plant Food all through the winter. When plants are dormant, they’re not dead! They’ll soak up those nutrients during the cold, sleepy winter months and then burst to life come spring.
How do I use Good Dirt’s Plant Food?
Our concentrated formula is easy to mix and goes a long way — there are 60 capfuls are in our 15oz product. Picture this: if you mixed the whole 15oz Plant Food container at once, you’d be making more feeding solution than your bathtub can even hold! Plus, we’ve done the math for you — that’s just $0.28/gallon.
Using our Plant Food is as easy as 1, 2, 3:
Step 1: Mix the Plant Food Concentrate with Water
- Outdoors: Mix 3 capfuls of our Plant Food into 1 gallon of water
- Indoors: Mix 1 capful of our Plant Food into 1 gallon of water
Step 2: Water Your Plants
- Note: Be kind to your plants and only water plants when necessary. If the soil feels dry to the touch, your plant is probably getting thirsty. Remember to drain any excess water caught in a saucer.
Step 3: Watch Your Plants Thrive
- Easy, efficient and effective… Naturally! Be sure to make a fresh solution of Good Dirt Plant Food + Water every time you feed.

Does your Plant Food expire?
Good Dirt Plant Food has a five year shelf life. We recommend making a new solution each time you feed your plants. If you have left over plant food after mixing it with water, we recommend using all that you mixed, as it can be fed to your lawn, shrubs, or anything that grows.
